The Trail

Though you move forward

You left your marks behind

You didn’t realize how prized you were

You didn’t know you’d make a difference

The precious little you had done

Was enough to move the mountain

Your footprints weren’t washed away in the rain

What you did wasn’t all in vain

Yet you seem wistful

Still unbelieving ‘twas you

Who removed the grave colours and hues

To pink from the melancholy blue

You might have moved far ahead

But your footprints linger on

You gave them the miracle of hope

The gift of a new dawn..
